A protected space to think through hard questions with people who see things differently.
Seed Dialogue Circle is our flagship offering — a structured, facilitated small-group experience for aspiring civic leaders in Los Angeles. A trained facilitator guides the conversation, helping participants listen closely, weigh difficult choices, and understand the values behind different views.
Make room for
careful
conversation.
Hard civic questions deserve time and attention. In a Seed Dialogue Circle, a small group works through a shared question using prepared materials and a structured conversation. Participants explore different approaches, the concerns behind them, and the trade-offs each would involve.
Seeds Of Meaning organizes the process without directing the group toward a predetermined conclusion. The aim is to build understanding and strengthen the judgment people bring to public life.
How It Works
01. Apply to participate
Tell us a little about yourself and what draws you to the conversation. We review applications to bring a range of experiences and perspectives into each circle.
02. Share your perspective
Before the session, a short survey invites you to share your experiences, concerns, and questions about the issue. Your responses help inform the discussion.
03. Explore the shared reading.
You'll receive a short reading in advance — an essay, article, or brief — so everyone has a common starting point for the conversation.
04. Join the conversation.
Join 15–20 participants for a three-hour session guided by a trained facilitator. Together, you’ll explore different approaches to the issue and weigh the choices and trade-offs each involves.
05. Receive the group summary.
Afterward, you'll receive a summary of the group's key concerns, difficult trade-offs, and areas of agreement and disagreement. Yours to keep.
Who It’s For
For people who want to contribute thoughtfully to their communities.
Participants bring different backgrounds, experiences, and political views. Bring your convictions and a willingness to listen, ask questions, and consider another perspective. What matters is how we engage with one another.
